    Sweet I do's

the church i attended as a child recently had a vow renewal service where anyone in the congregation could stand and renew their vows to each other. it was the sweetest thing. i watch my mom and dad and imagined what it must have been like for them on their wedding day so many years ago.

that is a very sweet idea. while most people renew their vows after many years of marriage, my husband and i want to have a ceremony on our first anniversary. not specifically for vow renewal, but more to have a bigger wedding ceremony because we could not get off work to go away when we got married this past october.

that's so lovely! a friend of mine and her husband recently had a vow renewal on their tenth wedding anniversary...their original wedding was very low-key and not really what they had wanted, so this time they did it almost as if it was a full-blown white wedding. it was really beautiful, especially as their little boy was able to get involved (he wasn't born when they got married).

that sounds like such a lovely idea. having it done in your home church with all the people you go to worship with would make it such a meaningful vow renewal ceremony.

i agree that it would mean so much more to do it with the people that surround you and love and care about you. they are the ones who have seen every aspect of your marriage, the good and the bad and in between.

we saw a vow renewal at one of the resorts we stayed at in mexico. a very small ceremony, looked to only be like 10 people. we didn't even know it was a vow renewal until we asked someone, we thought it was just a very small wedding. seems like a sweet idea maybe. have to get married first though and not put the cart before the horse here
