Thread: How long should the kiss be?

How long should the kiss be?

I don't want to peck my new husband, however, I don't want to embarrass anyone or make them uncomfortable. What does etiquette say about the wedding kiss? Should I discuss this with my fiance before the ceremony to get his view? What is appropriate in this instance?

Well yeah, I'd discuss it so there are no awkward situations. When it comes to the length of the kiss, I'm not sure what etiquette says but I wouldn't make it too long. Not a peck, a nice lip-lock lol, however not long and no making out. I'll save most of it for later - the kiss at the wedding is just symbolic.

I don't think much discussion before the kiss is needed. That can be spontaneous and I'm sure you'll know when it is enough. Don't go overboard because, obviously, that would be a bit awkward and uncomfortable, but a peck does sound quite cold for a wedding.

I am a bit shy so I would opt for a really quick lip lock! I don't want my makeup to be spooched off or have to wipe slobber from my face on that day!
