Where are you going on your honeymoon?

We haven't decided if we're just going to do our honeymoon in Mexico (where we're having our wedding) or if we should go somewhere else just to get the most travel out of our wedding as we can. Are you going to stay where you're having your wedding or are you going to go somewhere else? If somewhere else, where?

Hey Beatrice! If you don't honeymoon in Mexico where are you interested in going? Anything catch your fancy in particular? I don't mean to sound nosy. I just love chatting about weddings and honeymoons with other brides. I think even my dearest friends of tired about hearing about it. I don't know what I'd do without this forum.

I'm getting married in Jamaica and we're going to stay there for the honeymoon. We met in Jamaica while volunteering for a medical outreach program so the location has special meaning for us. I'm rather reserved and introverted and weddings are so stressful as it is. I wouldn't be up for heading to another crowded airport and taking another flight so soon. I need time to decompress.

We're getting married in a large Catholic church in our hometown, then we're heading to Hawaii for our honeymoon. I really wanted a big wedding with all of my friends and family in attendance and I also wanted to get married in our church.

Where are you getting married at exactly? Cancun has many all-inclusive, luxurious resorts that would be good for a romantic getaway.

We are getting married in Hawaii and then we're going to stay there for the honeymoon since neither of us have ever been there before and really want to experience it outside of all the wedding mayhem. For you, I guess it depends on where you're getting married in Mexico and what sort of honeymoon you're looking to have, like a private, romantic one or more adventurous or something else.

Our wedding and honeymoon will be at the same place since we are trying to save cost as much as we can. We've also been saving to go on holiday later in the year. For now, our concentration is on having a successful wedding day. My mind isn't even beginning to think of other places for the honeymoon!

If it were up to my future husband, we'd be honeymooning on a lake fishing! I on the other hand would love to take a cruise somewhere. I think we will have to compromise and go somewhere that we will both enjoy.

BashfulBride, not nosy at all! We're all in the same boat or we wouldn't be on here! I don't know though. I love the idea of a beach wedding but usually my ideal places for travel tend to be in Europe. I'm a little obsessed. However, my future husband is not because surfing is at the top of his agenda. Although we might agree on Crete, since it has a little bit of everything we both enjoy. Jamaica will be fun! And that's awesome that it means so much to both of you. I know a lot of people get stressed out over traveling, so you're not alone! I'm just one of those people who gets a bunch of adrenaline from it. I'm mildly obsessed with planes though, so that helps.

ILoveMark, We're still working on where we're getting married but it's sounding like the Hard Rock Cafe at Riviera Maya. There's definitely stuff to do around there, I'm just not sure. I bet Hawaii will be so much fun! Where all are you going?

Alison_20, that sounds like a good time! Yeah, I don't even know what we're looking for at this point I just feel like we need to get the ball rolling soon and I want to explore my (realistic) options.

Malia, that's definitely a factor in the decision since it would be cheaper to just stay. Ha, that's totally understandable! There's enough to stress out about without stressing out about the decompression time after the wedding. That's a good idea though - taking a holiday later in the year.

CajunBride, haha, that's like my husband and surfing! I'm sure you'll be able to find a cruise that will take you to some places with great fishing spots. What sort of cruise are you interested in?
